At EBRCOA, our team of expert Care Managers and Social Workers are here to support you. They are available to answer any questions, conduct a comprehensive assessment of your needs, make recommendations for the most suitable services, and connect you with other resources through our affiliations and community partners. Information & Assistance services include:
- Comprehensive assessments (in-home/on-site)
- Medicaid applications
- Distribution of donated medical supplies/equipment (when available)
- Care Management
- Utility bill assistance (electricity) – Entergy
- Assistance with legal concerns through Legal Services
- Seasonal distribution of fans, air conditioners, blankets
- Insurance counseling through Senior Health Insurance
- Information Program (SHIIP)

Utility Bill Assistance (Entergy’s The Power to Care)
The EBRCOA assists seniors who may need help paying their electricity bills.
Entergy’s The Power to Care is an emergency utility assistance program.
The client must also be at least 60 years of age or disabled.
Documents to bring include:
- Proof of Income
- Identification
- Most current Entergy bill (Bill must be in your name)
- All household bills
- Must live in East Baton Rouge Parish

Elderly Protective Services (EPS) is responsible for investigating reports of elders aged 60 and above at risk due to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and extortion. If you are someone you know needs assistance, contact EPS
