Lotus Rides
The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA) has added transportation services to its offerings in response to requests from the senior community. This service, Lotus Rides, is available to seniors aged 60 and over who meet specific criteria.
- Do not have access to their own transportation.
- Currently, use public transportation to travel to and from senior centers.
- Are facing difficulty in finding reliable transportation due to financial difficulties or disability.
All participants must complete a transportation application at the senior center they attend. Lotus Rides is a “demand response” service that currently provides transportation to and from senior centers and plans to expand to other options.
Ride Reservation Process
To schedule a ride to and from the senior centers, participants should call the Lotus Ride Line at (225) 361-0299. Rides must be scheduled at least 2 business days in advance to ensure confirmation and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis according to availability. If you have any questions, you may also contact the Lotus Ride department via email at transport@ebrcoa.org.
The transportation service is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The EBRCOA Lotus Rides is committed to the agency’s mission of “Supporting Independence ~ Serving Seniors” and aims to create a pleasant and safe environment for seniors.
