Lotus Village Receives $10 million in PRIME Funding

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (05/13/2020) – The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA) is thrilled to announce that their Lotus Village senior housing development has been approved for $10 million in Piggyback Resilient Mixed-Income (PRIME) funding. The Lotus Village is a planned residential rental home facility designed exclusively for the senior population of EBR Parish.

Senior Center Drive-Thru Closed Monday, June 8th

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (05/13/2020) – The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA) announces that due to the threat of Tropical Storm Cristobal and in coordination with the office of Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, all senior center locations and agency offices will be closed on Monday, June 8, 2020, out of an abundance of caution.

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (06/06/2020) – As the Chief Executive Officer of the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging, I have the privilege everyday to touch the lives of those aged 60 and older through a variety of programming and services. The work we do is paramount to improving and enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens, but it also improves the quality of life for all of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Another Free Drive-Thru Food Pantry Open to All Local Seniors

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (05/13/2020) – The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA) is thrilled to announce the phase one reopening of our senior centers. Effective Wednesday, May 20th, 14 senior centers and feeding sites will reopen only for drive-thru meal pick up for congregate (hot) meal participants. Hot congregate meals will be available Monday thru Friday between 11am and 2pm. Seniors are directed to pick up meals from the center located closest to their homes.
