BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced there will be no money to fund the SNAP food stamp program next month, leaving more than 88,000 Louisiana seniors and thousands of families without benefits weeks before the holidays.

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Amid uncertainty about the future of SNAP benefits, the East Baton Rouge Parish Council on Aging has announced food assistance. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has warned that SNAP benefits could run dry for some people by the start of November if the federal government shutdown continues.
