BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (04/09/2024) – The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA) announced that due to the high possibility of inclement weather all senior center locations of will be closed Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

EBRCOA Closed Tuesday and Wednesday Due to Inclement Weather

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (11/30/2022) – We are hosting a Holiday Food Giveaway on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the new EBRCOA Administration Building (965 N. 18th Street) starting at 8:00 AM. This event is open to everyone, including the Gracie (“The Lakes”) community. The food boxes are limited to one box per person and only while supplies last.

BATON ROUGE, LA (The Advocate) -The East Baton Rouge Housing Authority announced Friday it has acquired the former Earl K. Long Medical Center site from Louisiana State University, and plans to convert the abandoned space into a mixed-use development with senior housing and retail. The first phase of North Park will also include an East Baton Rouge Parish library branch, a BREC neighborhood park, a YWCA Head Start center, an East Baton Rouge Council on Aging space and a CareSouth clinic.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Seniors in Baton Rouge have been surprised with a special gift from Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. After continuous high-temperature days, Mayor Broome, the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging, and the Capital Area United Way have collectively donated 50 air conditioning units, thanks to Nucor Steel Louisiana. Additional units are being taken to Council on Aging agencies around Baton Rouge.
